SAN DIEGO (June 26, 2012) – OneRoof Energy, the nation’s premier solar finance provider, announces that Dalton Sprinkle has joined the company as vice president of corporate development and general counsel. Sprinkle will manage the company’s legal affairs and will provide leadership in the company’s corporate development efforts with its finance and operational relationships. Sprinkle will play a key role in OneRoof Energy’s ongoing aggressive growth.
With 14 years of executive and legal experience developed in-house and at law firms such as Skadden Arps, Dalton has extensive experience representing companies across the spectrum of the corporate lifecycle in transactions from seed and venture capital financings, to public and private securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions, to going private and restructuring transactions. Dalton has developed particular expertise working with tax equity-financed renewable energy structures in the solar and wind spaces.
“I’m thrilled to be joining such a dynamic organization and am honored to be affiliated with the talented individuals that make up the OneRoof Energy team,” said Sprinkle.
Prior to joining OneRoof Energy, Dalton served as executive vice president, chief legal officer for Carbon Motors Corporation, where he was instrumental in negotiating various complex financing and strategic transactions for a start-up company in the automotive space. Previously, he served as senior vice president, business development and general counsel at Applied Solar, Inc., a publicly-traded solar company, where he counseled the company through several critical financing, strategic and restructuring transactions.
Sprinkle earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California and a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as editor-in-chief of The Tax Lawyer, the American Bar Association’s flagship tax publication.
“Dalton’s wide-ranging business and legal expertise, particularly in the renewable energy sector, is a valuable addition as we continue our rapid growth and expansion,” said David Field, president and CEO of OneRoof Energy. “He understands the intricacies and needs of a fast growing solar company, and we look forward to the contributions he will make to our partnerships, customers and team.”
Sprinkle’s appointment is one of several new executive team hires for OneRoof Energy as it expands and develops, including new Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Capital Markets Dale Vander Woude and new Vice President of Marketing Nick Hofer. So far in 2012, the company has grown its work force to 42 full time employees and more than 20 consultants, with growth plans for an estimated total of 150 green jobs by year end.
